RETICULATED PYTHON

NEWS: A female reticulated python discovered in Sulawesi (Indonesia) has been officially confirmed by Guinness World Records as the longest measured snake in the world, with a length of 7.22 metres (23 feet 8 inches).

• Native to South and Southeast Asia
• Found in: India (especially Northeast India), etc Indonesia

Conservation Status

• IUCN Red List: Least Concern: Species is not currently at risk of extinction.
• Local threats include: Habitat loss, illegal wildlife trade (skin for leather industry)
