NEWS: Hippo at Bannerghatta National Park to be named after late trainee veterinary officer Sameeksha

- Dr Sameeksha Reddyà a trainee wildlife veterinarian, who died after being attacked by a hippopotamus at the Tyavarekoppa Lion and Tiger Safari near Shivamogga.
ABOUT
- Following the death of trainee veterinary officer Sameeksha Reddy in the zoo at Tyavarekoppa near Shivamogga recentlyàZoo Authority of Karnataka Chairman K Rangaswamy visited the zoo
- Female hippopotamus at Bannerghatta National Park would be named after Sameeksha.
- The department would probe the incident thoroughly and justice will be given to the kin of the deceased.
- Promised that the government would take all necessary steps to ensure that such incidents are not repeated in the future.
