NEWS: India has added 52,537 MW (Megawatt) of electricity generation capacity in the current financial year (till Jan 31).
Total Capacity Added
- Added: 52,537 MW
- Growth: More than 11% increase
- Highest ever addition (previous record: 34,054 MW in FY 2024–25)
- Renewable Energy – Major Contribution
- Out of total 52,537 MW added:
- 39,657 MW from Renewable Energyà Solar: 34,955 MW (largest share), Wind: 4,613 MW
