NEWS: The Prime Minister visited Assam and laid the foundation stone for the ₹6,957 crore Kaziranga Elevated Corridor project and also flagged off two Amrit Bharat trains

The corridor aims to:
- Ensure uninterrupted animal movement
- Reduce human–wildlife conflict
- Prevent roadkill and accidents
- Improve road safety and connectivity
- Reduce travel time
About Kaziranga National Park (KNPTR)
- Located in Assam; UNESCO World Heritage Site (1985).
- Known as the world’s safest address for the one-horned rhinoceros (Rhinoceros unicornis).
- Also a Tiger Reserve → declared in 2007, has one of the highest tiger densities in the world.
- Famous “Big Five” of Kaziranga:
- Indian one-horned rhinoceros
- Bengal tiger
- Asian elephant
- Wild water buffalo
- Eastern swamp deer
